Who would've thought it had been a year since I made a proper journal entry? A long, long time ago... My activity on deviantART and artistic activity reduced severely over time and there's no point in making my usual excuses. Sure, there's school and studying for finals, but I would be lying if I said I worked my ass off all the time. The truth is that I'm far too lazy too do anything. And as time passes, it only gets worse. Fascinating... It has come to the point where I think I should see a therapist or something. :XD:

That aside, some really excited stuff happened over the course of the last few months.

Firstly, local sci-fi convention, SFeraKon, took place in May for 3 days here in Zagreb. This was the third time I visited it, but the first time I volunteered with my friends and it was awesome! :aww: We had a lot fun and the people there are really, really friendly and nice! :) After the convention, we missed their company so much that we started to attend weekly meetings held by SFera (association/club whose goal is to promote science fiction and literature in Croatia). It has become something I look forward to every week now! :la:

The other reason why this year's SFeraKon was special to me is the fact that I participated in a literary competition for the first time. It was the annual SFeraKon literary competition for children and youth. Since I've never written anything serious before, I didn't have any high expectations - I just wanted to prove to myself that I can start and finish something without giving up. Anyway, after weeks of waiting, I found out that I won second place in the high school category! :happybounce: :bademoticon: Amazing... I would post the story here on dA, but since it isn't written in English, there's no point. If someone's interested, it's basically an origin story of a super-hero, kind of. The theme I chose was "Secret Life of A Super-hero". :) Anyway, I've been offered a chance to send my story to SFera later this year in a chance to have it published in their fanzine Parsek, so there's a lot of work that needs to be done on the story. Two lovely people from SFera who are now editors for Parsek will help me with their advices and constructive criticisms and I sincerely hope that I'll do a successful job. Oh, they're such wonderful people. really. :aww

Secondly (or is it thirdly? Nevermind...), I had a small exhibition at my school's library with my best friend Ivy789. Lonacc gave me confidence to talk to the lady in the library and we were both surprised with her enthusiasm. I guess we always thought of her as cold, but she's the complete opposite - such a sweet person. :aww:

Here are 2 pictures from the exhibition:

Lately, I didn't have anything special to do so I've been replaying Tomb Raider (2013). God how I love Tomb Raider... I've gotten so into it that I listened to soundtracks of older games from the franchise - I hope I'm not the only one who gets so obsessed. :XD: Other than that, I finally got returned to  The Wolf Among Us - I haven't played for so long because I wanted to be able to play it in peace. So long that I last finished Episode 2 and a few days ago the season ended with Episode 5! :bademoticon: So after the Tomb Raider frenzy (which hasn't quite stopped), now I'm all in TWAU - I think I've faved like 20 fan arts. OMGsqueeeee....  Also, just to add to my crazy obsessing, I am so freaking pumped up for the Guardians of The Galaxy movie coming out 31th July (or 1st of August if you're from the USA). I have absolutely no idea what got into me, but I just... I have been so extremely excited about it, just so unnaturally excited. Damn, I even put Star-Lord as background and screensaver on my phone. Shit got CRAAZY! :funnydance: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Please tell me I'm not the only one...

I think I've said enough for a new journal entry. I hope I'll get at least a bit more active (though I say that every summer) and do something with my life.

Bye for now! :aww:

P.S. If someone has a suggestion for a good sitcom/humoristic tv-show, please share with me. I can't keep on rewatching The Big Bang Theory forever. :XD: Is Parks and Recreation as good as IMDb says?

P.S. 2) If you want to see what it was like on SFeraKon 2014, check out the official photos on this link: picasaweb.google.com/DrustvoSF…

I'm just sharing this poll from MonsterBrand rooseveltuniversity.co1.qualtr…

It's a research about comic(manga demographic and they would be really grateful if you'd fill it.
Plus, if you fill it, share it and let MonsterBrand know, she'll feature you in her journal. :aww:
Here's the link to her journal: monsterbrand.deviantart.com/jo…. Just let her know in comments that you shared it. :)

Obsessions

3 min read
So, summer has come, again. I'm torn between happiness and sadness - school is over so there's no pressure for a few months, but on the other hand, I'm so overwhelmed with the sudden amount of free time available to me that I always feel like NOT doing anything meaningful. Ironically, few months ago I didn't want to spend any time drawing or something like that because I was already afraid of not trying enough for school. Anyway, same old me feeling petty of myself for not developing my artistic skills now that I have a lot of free time.

Moving away from that, I need to share my little new obsession - Community. :la: It's a TV comedy series I recently discovered and I must say that I'm absolutely loving it! I've spend hours and hours watching The Big Bang Theory that I feel like I know the whole show by heart, so Community came into my life as if I called for it. One of the TV channels from my country has been showing it for a while (they've started the 3rd season the other day) and I watched the last third of the 2nd season, so today I got my hands on the 1st season (I can't tell you how because it's illegal, but *shh*) and I've already watched about 10 episodes - when I start, I.. I just can't stop. *_* Therefore, if you are experiencing a lack of fun TV material to watch, check it out - it gained a score of 8,6/10 on IMDb, so it seems as I'm not the only one enjoying the show. :D

In other news, Ellie Goulding just announced she'll be re-releasing her album Halcyon under the name Halcyon Days with 7 new songs and I'm psyched because any new song form her is like a voice from heaven for me. Well, not exactly, but you get my point (I'm pretty much happy about it). Also, I haven't been able to get my hands on a copy of Halcyon so I'll beg my sister to order me the new release from the internet because I... just... need... TO HAVE IT! :excited:

Honestly, I'm not looking forward to spending 3 weeks on the seaside with my parents and then a week or so at my grandparents' and relatives' in the neighbouring country. At all. :._.,:  But, I've survived last x similar summers so I'll survive this one also. :)

P.S. Also watched Pitch Perfect recently - awesome! :aww:

May Day

3 min read
One day, not long ago, I was bored, really bored. So, I decided to write something, anything... And since I don't have anything else smart to say, enjoy! :)

***
May Day. The whole town was empty since everyone had gone on a trip somewhere. Many of them decided to stay longer because it was Thursday so they had more free days. What was I doing on that special day? I was driving through the countryside to my sweetheart, Emma. I couldn't believe it had already been 6 months since we had met. Time flies when you're in love, I guess.
The road was still a bit wet because it had drizzled earlier, but it was still suprisingly warm for that time. The sun was shinning brightly and there wasn't any sign of the weather getting worse, so I thought it would be a good idea to put down the roof of the car and breathe in some fresh air. As soon as the roof opened, the spring breeze blew in and filled my lungs with the fresh scent od the dew that was covering the plains and the trees by the road. I couldn't ask for a better day.
It didn't take me long to arrive to Em's house. It was a cute, small country house – perfect for a perky person such as her. „Coming!!" I could hear her saying as I rang the doorbell.
„Is the damsel in the distress ready to be saved by the prince in a shiny armor?" I said when she opened the door.
„More like a stranger of the night ready to take the princess somewhere far away", Em said as she opened the door.
„Well, sorry that I didn't put on a suit", I said as a silent growl came out of my throat.
„Calm down, tiger... I was just joking, didn't mean to wake up the beast."
„Oh... Okay then... I'm sorry, it just came out by itself..."
„It's okay", said Em as a a little smile appeared on her lips. „Where are you taking me, anyway? As long it's not the opera, I'm happy...."
„You'll see when we get there. Did you take a jacket, a vest or something...?"
She looked at me dully as if I'd lost my mind.
„Seriously?? A jacket? At this temperature? I know you care about me, but that's just a bit silly. I won't be cold, don't worry, love."
„Okay... Temperature changes don't affect me so bad, so I can't tell how it is for others. I brought some blankets... Just in case", I winked as I said that.
„I'll be FINE... You worry too much."
„Okay then... Shall we go now?"
„Yeah, let's go."
As soon as she locked the door, a grabbed her and carried her in my arms to the car.
„Whooah, slow down. There'll be time to get frisky later.... Oh, you came in the Candy car!! Oooo, I love this car!", she said widely excited as I was putting her in her seat.
It was my father's Mustang. It was painted in Candy Red, so that's why she called it the Candy car.

Is it crazy to not be thrilled about the thought of going to the seaside? Because I'm not. I'd rather stay at my relatives in another country than go the the same place at the seaside for, like, 9 or 10 years already and what? Just go everyday to the beach just to spend the whole day alternately swimming and eating fruit (in enormous quantities). I feel like I'm going to die there if I stay there for more than a week. Awful, just... awful... >.<

But why is that happening in the first place? Well, smart as I am, I figured I could apply to work at a local multimedia shop (with video games, music CD's, movies, books and stuff). And I did, I sent an email and waited... just to find out that they probably didn't receive my message, but it was a bit too late to send it again. Awesome, isn't it?? XD

However, not everything is so depressing. I was allowed to stay here, in the comfort of my hometown (actually homecity, but whatever), for 2 weeks after my parents initially went! :D So, during the week I hang out with Sheldon and his cheerful gang. I just loooooove them... it couldn't be better! <3 <3 <3

In the end, I'd apologize to all of you who have been patient enough to read this whole journal, even though it's boring as hell and doesn't have anything interesting in it at all (blame it on the author very, very exciting everyday life). I don't have any inspiration but the 2 months old journal was just begging me to put a new one. So... apologies again, and...

... till next time

Sincerely, Crolossus
