Deviation Actions
Who would've thought it had been a year since I made a proper journal entry? A long, long time ago... My activity on deviantART and artistic activity reduced severely over time and there's no point in making my usual excuses. Sure, there's school and studying for finals, but I would be lying if I said I worked my ass off all the time. The truth is that I'm far too lazy too do anything. And as time passes, it only gets worse. Fascinating... It has come to the point where I think I should see a therapist or something.
That aside, some really excited stuff happened over the course of the last few months.
Firstly, local sci-fi convention, SFeraKon, took place in May for 3 days here in Zagreb. This was the third time I visited it, but the first time I volunteered with my friends and it was awesome! We had a lot fun and the people there are really, really friendly and nice! After the convention, we missed their company so much that we started to attend weekly meetings held by SFera (association/club whose goal is to promote science fiction and literature in Croatia). It has become something I look forward to every week now!
The other reason why this year's SFeraKon was special to me is the fact that I participated in a literary competition for the first time. It was the annual SFeraKon literary competition for children and youth. Since I've never written anything serious before, I didn't have any high expectations - I just wanted to prove to myself that I can start and finish something without giving up. Anyway, after weeks of waiting, I found out that I won second place in the high school category! :bademoticon: Amazing... I would post the story here on dA, but since it isn't written in English, there's no point. If someone's interested, it's basically an origin story of a super-hero, kind of. The theme I chose was "Secret Life of A Super-hero". Anyway, I've been offered a chance to send my story to SFera later this year in a chance to have it published in their fanzine Parsek, so there's a lot of work that needs to be done on the story. Two lovely people from SFera who are now editors for Parsek will help me with their advices and constructive criticisms and I sincerely hope that I'll do a successful job. Oh, they're such wonderful people. really.
Secondly (or is it thirdly? Nevermind...), I had a small exhibition at my school's library with my best friend Ivy789. Lonacc gave me confidence to talk to the lady in the library and we were both surprised with her enthusiasm. I guess we always thought of her as cold, but she's the complete opposite - such a sweet person.
Here are 2 pictures from the exhibition:
Lately, I didn't have anything special to do so I've been replaying Tomb Raider (2013). God how I love Tomb Raider... I've gotten so into it that I listened to soundtracks of older games from the franchise - I hope I'm not the only one who gets so obsessed. Other than that, I finally got returned to The Wolf Among Us - I haven't played for so long because I wanted to be able to play it in peace. So long that I last finished Episode 2 and a few days ago the season ended with Episode 5! :bademoticon: So after the Tomb Raider frenzy (which hasn't quite stopped), now I'm all in TWAU - I think I've faved like 20 fan arts. Also, just to add to my crazy obsessing, I am so freaking pumped up for the Guardians of The Galaxy movie coming out 31th July (or 1st of August if you're from the USA). I have absolutely no idea what got into me, but I just... I have been so extremely excited about it, just so unnaturally excited. Damn, I even put Star-Lord as background and screensaver on my phone. Shit got CRAAZY! Please tell me I'm not the only one...
I think I've said enough for a new journal entry. I hope I'll get at least a bit more active (though I say that every summer) and do something with my life.
Bye for now!
P.S. If someone has a suggestion for a good sitcom/humoristic tv-show, please share with me. I can't keep on rewatching The Big Bang Theory forever. Is Parks and Recreation as good as IMDb says?
P.S. 2) If you want to see what it was like on SFeraKon 2014, check out the official photos on this link: picasaweb.google.com/DrustvoSF…

Obsessions
So, summer has come, again. I'm torn between happiness and sadness - school is over so there's no pressure for a few months, but on the other hand, I'm so overwhelmed with the sudden amount of free time available to me that I always feel like NOT doing anything meaningful. Ironically, few months ago I didn't want to spend any time drawing or something like that because I was already afraid of not trying enough for school. Anyway, same old me feeling petty of myself for not developing my artistic skills now that I have a lot of free time.
Moving away from that, I need to share my little new obsession - Community. :la: It's a TV comedy series
May Day
One day, not long ago, I was bored, really bored. So, I decided to write something, anything... And since I don't have anything else smart to say, enjoy! :)
***
May Day. The whole town was empty since everyone had gone on a trip somewhere. Many of them decided to stay longer because it was Thursday so they had more free days. What was I doing on that special day? I was driving through the countryside to my sweetheart, Emma. I couldn't believe it had already been 6 months since we had met. Time flies when you're in love, I guess.
The road was still a bit wet because it had drizzled earlier, but it was still suprisingly warm for that time.
Summertime Sadness
Is it crazy to not be thrilled about the thought of going to the seaside? Because I'm not. I'd rather stay at my relatives in another country than go the the same place at the seaside for, like, 9 or 10 years already and what? Just go everyday to the beach just to spend the whole day alternately swimming and eating fruit (in enormous quantities). I feel like I'm going to die there if I stay there for more than a week. Awful, just... awful... >.<
But why is that happening in the first place? Well, smart as I am, I figured I could apply to work at a local multimedia shop (with video games, music CD's, movies, books and stuff). And I did, I sen
